Born into a devout Christian family in Louisiana, Grammy nominee visual artist child has been immersed in music, art, and spirituality throughout their life.

Initially pursuing careers as a photographer and art director, child transitioned into directing music videos for renowned artists such as Doja Cat, Post Malone, H.E.R., and Janelle Monae. Notably, they also directed a Super Bowl commercial in 2021. Child’s distinctive aesthetic is characterized by its bold, stylized elements, luminous use of light and color, and evocative gothic lyricism.

While drawing inspiration from Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jemel Shabazz, and their religious upbringing, child employs dreamlike visual language to explore the African American experience.
