Nia DaCosta is an in-demand writer and director of film and television. Most recently she directed and co-wrote the spiritual sequel to the classic horror film CANDYMAN, produced by Jordan Peele and released last summer by Universal. Besides being critically and commercially successful, CANDYMAN’s release made DaCosta the first Black woman to have a movie open at number one at the US box office. Up next, DaCosta is directing and co-writing THE MARVELS, a highly-anticipated installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, due in theaters February of 2023. Previously, Nia wrote and directed the independent film LITTLE WOODS starring Tessa Thompson and Lily James, which was Certifed Fresh at 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, and released by Neon.
